It's November and we are still cleaning up the hurricane damage and making sure all the trails are cleared for safe and easy access. Professionals with the necessary equipment have come in to take care of the big trees that were uprooted - now it's up to the Florida Scrub-Jay trailblazers to take care of the rest.  Trail maintenance on Saturday, November 23, from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This is the week before Thanksgving so there is less conflict with your holiday plans, and the expected cooler weather makes it a perfect morning for trail work.  Bring your water bottle – we will supply plenty of cold water to refill your bottle. Other things to bring to Saturday’s Trailday are gloves, hats, pruning shears, and loppers. We have a limited supply of tools to share, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own. Giving Tuesday is a global initiative dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 3, individuals, charities, families, businesses and students around the world will come together to celebrate generosity and give to their favorite causes.   Giving Tuesday is the perfect day to support The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail through membership or donations that help continue our efforts to maintain the scrub habitat and protect the Florida Scrub-Jay from extinction.   Join or Donate Now Free guided tours of The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail are offered the first Saturday of each month 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m   For further information or to reserve your spot, please call 352-429-5566 or e-mail info@scrubjaytrail.org.
