"Scouts BSA Troop 528 Camping at the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail"

In the spring of 1997, a nesting pair of Florida Scrub-Jays was discovered in an orange grove in Clermont, Florida, and five fledglings emerged. This family remained on the property for years, and as the young eventually dispersed and the original pair died off, the next generation, consisting of a new male and female, and their surviving young, remained on the property, and could be seen frequently on what is now the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail. TRAILDAY - SATURDAY, MARCH 23

8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

So many individuals and groups have had such a positive impact on the growth of The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail. Scouts have completed many projects at the Trail over the years, and they have frequent events, including campouts, on the property.

On our Trailday on Saturday, March 23, we will clear the trails to the campground and the campground itself. Please bring any equipment you have (we have a limited availability of equipment to loan for the day). Everyone should also wear gloves, closed-toed shoes, and long pants. Bring your water bottle - we will supply plenty of cold water to refill your bottle.
