"Florida Scrub-jay"

We love to see The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail grow...

but some forms of growth need to be controlled. Trail maintenance is scheduled on Trailday on the fourth Saturday of every month. That's when we may be planting new things in our effort to restore the land to its original scrub habitat, or work to control the growth of invasive plants and also to trim the scrub oaks to keep them at the lower height preferred by the Florida Scrub-Jay.

There is always a need for on-going trail maintenance - the growth never stops - and for volunteers at The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail. If you aren't doing so already, make 2023 the year to show up and show your support in whatever way you can - we truly appreciate whatever you can do.

TRAILDAY - SATURDAY, JANUARY 28

8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Please bring any equipment you have (we have a limited availability of equipment to loan for the day). Everyone should also wear gloves, closed-toed shoes and long pants. Bring your water bottle - we will supply plenty of cold water to refill your bottle.
