Nature yourself at The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail on Saturday, August 27, 2022 - join us for yoga, Trailday, or just to show your support

The Scrub-Jay restoration is doing well and our family unit is doing well. Keep in mind that one Florida Scrub-Jay family will protect up to 25 acres of land for its family unit.

Many other family units, such as Mockingbirds or Cardinals, can and will survive in the same territory, but only ONE family of Florida Scrub-Jays will survive on a 25 acre of family land.

At Trailday on Saturday, August 27, from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., we will nature ourselves by continuing our maintenance of the Bald Cypress trees that are part of the lakefront restoration project.

These trees can reach a height of 20 ft within four years, and we are so excited that many of them will thrive and provide environmental benefits for a 1000 years to come…with a little help during these early years.

Bring your water bottle – we will supply plenty of cold water to refill your bottle. Other things to bring to Saturday’s Trailday are gloves, hats, pruning shears, and loppers. We have a limited supply of tools to share, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own.
