BioBlitz - Saturday,
February 9

On Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, Dr. Marc Minno will guide us on a 2-hour trek through the sandhill scrub and wetlands of the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail. Butterflies, caterpillars, native plants, shrubs, trees and more than 130 species of birds, including the elusive Florida Scrub-Jay, are found in this biologically diverse habitat.
Pack a brown bag lunch, binoculars, water bottle, and wear sensible shoes suitable for walking through the wilderness. Over lunch, you will have the opportunity to discuss your discoveries with Dr. Minno.

Bring your refillable water bottle as we will have plenty of water.

No Child Left Behind - Fishing and Boating Camp
You can help sponsor a child to go to Fishing and Boating Skills Summer Camp

We believe no child should be left behind due to lack of funding. Every year you help with our scholarship program to send children to camp.  One week of day camp all inclusive is $225.00.  For details visit www.scrubjaytrail.org or contact cathy@scrubjaytrail.org

Can You Help Build a Larger Fishing Dock?
You helped build our initial dock. Can you help again to enlarge it?

Many children would like to have the opportunity to fish from the dock but we need to enlarge it. Our goal is to have it completed this spring in time for Summer Camp.  We still have several thousands of dollars to raise….but every dollar helps…small or large.  You can change a child’s life!  Thank you!

Please note there will be no Trailday in February - join us at the Florida Scrub-Jay Festival in Merritt Island.
Going into its 10th year, the Florida Scrub-Jay Festival highlights Florida’s only endemic bird and the other critical species that rely on the Florida scrub. Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in partnership with the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting this free event at the Titusville Welcome Center located next to the Pritchard House, in downtown Titusville. Join us for nature exhibits, live animals, Refuge tours, hikes, children’s crafts and games, live music, and a watercolor art exhibit. For more information, please call 321-861-0668.
Interested in volunteering to help work at our Florida Scrub-Jay Trail booth on Merritt Island for the Florida Scrub-Jay Festival? Please contact Cathy Brown at  info@scrubjaytrail.org or 352-429-5566.
