Dr. Minno’s Journey Into The Natural World
At B.B.Brown’s Gardens at the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail, Dr. Marc Minno will lead a 2 hour trek through the sandhill scrub and wetlands where butterflies live in abundance along with a plethora of tiny insects, caterpillars, birds, native plants, shrubs and trees.
Five monthly, 2-hour sessions are designed to increase our awareness of the natural world around us. By sharpening our powers of observation and interpretation, we will see nature in a new light by observing the things that are “hidden in plain sight”.
Butterfly surveys will allow us to track monarchs and other butterflies. We’ll learn what plants we should put in our gardens to attract butterflies and birds. Gopher Tortoises, wild edible plants, insects, both friend and foe, and native plants will all be carefully studied in the natural habitat of The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail in Clermont, FL. This fascinating series is open to students, adults and nature lovers of all ages.
Bring your refillable water bottle as we will have plenty of water.
