FISHING AND BOATING CAMP
AT THE FLORIDA SCRUB-JAY TRAIL
MARCH 19-23, JUNE 4-8, JUNE 11-15 and JUNE 18-22, 2018
The 5th annual Fishing and Basic Boating Skills Camp at the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail, 11490 Montevista Road in Clermont, will be offered this year during Spring Break along with the normal summer schedule.
This 5 day camp is offered to boys and girls, ages 9 to 15, Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30.
Skills to be learned include fishing technique, boating safety and navigation, trolling motor and oaring operation, knot tying, tackle selection, casting, cast netting, fish cleaning and much more. Campers will receive their own rod, reel and tackle box stocked with all the tackle they will need during camp, and to take home.
Tournaments will determine the largest and smallest fish caught (catch and release), boating skills slalom course timed event, casting accuracy, and cast netting skills. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category.
The week will end with a family Fish Fry and boat rides offered by the new campers.
This year's Camp schedule is as follows:
SPRING BREAK:
March 19-23
SUMMER: June 4-8, June 11-15, June 18-22
Tuition for the camp is $225 for the week
($215 if paid by cash or check)
Class size will be limited to assure personalized instruction.
Acceptance will be on a first come – first served basis.
