Trailday is Saturday, September 23rd 7am-8am Sunrise Yoga with Dianna followed by Trailday from 8am -11am
Trailday
New: Introduction to Qigong 7:00 a.m. - Karen McCahey, student of Tevia Feng of White Tiger Qigong, will give us a 15-minute introduction to Qigong - the art of learning to move energy through our bodies using movement, breath and intention. Qi means energy and Gong means work. Karen is studying dynamic Qigong and will do the warm up with everyone which opens the meridians and allows the energy to flow freely without being blocked.
Qigong will flow into our blissful Sunrise Yoga which lets us enjoy the beauty of sunrise over the lake as we are led through calming, reflective poses that are suitable for any experience level. All you need to bring is your mat and your enthusiasm. (No charge)
Enjoy continental breakfast on the Trailhouse porch at 8:00 a.m. before heading out for trail work. (contributions to the breakfast table are welcome but not required)

Lend a hand at our ongoing trail maintenance. Bring your clippers, gloves, refillable water bottle, insect repellent. We will be working in the Giving Garden with final preparations for fall planting. The purpose of the Giving Garden is to grow vegetables and produce for community members in need of food.
We hope that all who were in the path of Hurricane Irma are now safe and getting back to a somewhat normal life. B.B.Brown’s Gardens and The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail were very fortunate and had no major damage. Some roofs blew off parts of the Trail structures and the barns and some trees were uprooted as well as lots of limbs and leaf debris.
Thank you to all who have been volunteering to clean up.
“Love Lake Life” is a web series that highlights some of Lake County’s must-visit spots and love-filled locals to shine light on why Lake County is real Florida, real close.
The fifth Love Lake Life feature is: The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail!
Tag a friend who would love to take photos here. Cathy Brown invites you to check out the unbeLEAFable plants, flowers, and animals you can spot in this habitat.

BioBlitz Internships
Nicholas Santiso wrapped up his BioBlitz Internship with Marc Minno and is back at Florida State University studying for his Bachelors of Science degree. We look forward to his continued studies here at the Trail during his school breaks. Retired Entomologist Lawrence Richards has joined our BioBlitz Internship, under the direction of Marc Minno and is beginning to catalog insects of the Green Swamp.
