BUTTERFLY EXPERT AND AUTHOR TO LEAD
NATURE SERIES AT THE FLORIDA SCRUB-JAY TRAIL
IN 2015
Butterfly expert Dr. Marc Minno will begin his series of workshops in Clermont, FL before heading to Cuba to lead a butterfly and bird tour.
Noted author Dr. Marc Minno will lead a series of eight monthly, four- hour sessions designed to increase our awareness of the natural world around us. By sharpening our powers of observation and interpretation, we will see Nature in a new light by observing, as the saying goes, the things that are "hidden in plain sight". Butterfly surveys will allow us to track monarchs and other butterflies. We'll learn what plants we should put in our gardens to attract butterflies and birds. Gopher Tortoises, wild edible plants, insects, both friend and foe, and native plants will all be carefully studied in the natural habitat of The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail in Clermont, FL.
This fascinating series is open to students, adults and nature lovers of all ages. The classes can be attended as a package or individually. Cost is $10 per session, or $60 for the series of 8 sessions. Time 10:00am – 2:00pm and the dates are: April 18, June 27, July 25, August 29, September 26, October 3 (10-1:30), November 28 and December 12.
