Birding with John Thomton
Saturday, October 3rd: 7:00am-8:30am and 9:00am-10:30am
John has been an avid birder since his high school days in Chicago. Relocating to Florida 10 years ago, he has enjoyed the state's diverse and abundant birdlife. He has a particular fondness for corvids, and thus began volunteering at The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail in 2007.
John assists in the restoration of the scrub habitat along the Trail and also maintains the bird list of 125 species recorded on the property to date. In addition to all the time John spends monitoring the species of birds at the Trail he also founded and organizes the Clermont Christmas Bird Count, an annual event hosted at the Trail.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, birding with John will be a true pleasure as you gain incite into his birding techniques utilizing site and sound.
