BATS OF FLORIDA WORKSHOP
For Land Managers and those working with bats

May 13, 2011   3:30PM - 10PM

Florida Bat Conservancy

Bats have played an integral part of our communities for hundreds of years. Numerous myths and misnomers have followed for as many years. Those that have had the opportunity to train and study bats know the advantages of having bat colonies and how they can greatly reduce pesticide budgets and benefit your community.

We invite you to the Bats of Florida Workshop, Friday, May 13th, 3:30pm-10:00pm
at The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail, Clermont.

Topics covered:  Introduction of bats, natural history and diversity, echolocation, bats of Florida, habitats, distribution and identification, bat houses, exclusion of bats in buildings, bats and public health, bat watching and listening with bat detectors.

Live bats will be shown during this workshop sponsored by  The Florida Bat Conservancy  and The Florida Scrub-Jay Consortium.

Cost:  $35.00 (includes dinner)
Registration deadline May 6, 2011. Space is limited.
