April
24,
2010 Trailday Newsletter
Hello Trailblazers and Friends,
|
Another month has gone by and much has been
accomplished. Thank you for all of your contributions.
The scrub-jays
are nesting and continuing to do a great job of
protecting their turf. We have lots of snakes; swallow tail kites,
all kinds of hawks and more mocking birds than ever before. And
you should see the wildflower Lupine (Lupinus
diffusus) that has sprung out of the ground. It is the first one
in 14 years that we have been here. Very pretty surprise.
To add
to the Blue aspect of the Trail we have a very nice Bluebird
Trail that is being monitored and maintained by Jana
Harris and Janet
Carter. They have spent many hours repairing and replacing
boxes as well as installing several predator guards on the polls.

If you
are interested in this project please let us know when you arrive.
Feel free
to contribute to the breakfast table if you'd like, however it
is not required to participate.
Please do however let us know if
you will be attending so we can prepare accordingly.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing
you in the morning.

Daisy
Troop 9068 |
Many folks have been here working and playing
since last month's Trailday not the least of which was Daisy
Troop # 9068 headed up by Paula Anderson.
They
planted a section of the Craig
Tufts Pollinator Trail and had lots of fun as they explored
the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail with magnifying glasses and binoculars
in hand.
