March 27, 2010 Trailday Newsletter
Hello Trailblazers and Scrub-Jay Fans,

Green Eyes

Another busy month and so much has been accomplished, and much yet to participate in.

The weather is slowly but surely beginning to feel like Spring and all the plants on the Trail are starting to flush out with new growth. The green eyes (wildflowers) are popping up everywhere and they makes you smile. .

Trailday March 27, 2010

This Saturday (8am-11am) we will be working on the low volume irrigation. Hundreds of trees and ground covers have been installed throughout the Winter months and they need to have the irrigation lines checked and/or new ones installed. The weather will finally be nice enough to do this job. In fact a little squirt of water every now and then may even feel good on such a sunny day!

Please do RSVPinfo@scrubjaytrail.org ) so that we know how much coffee, tea etc. to have on hand.

We thank you for all that you do.

Other Events

Several of you have volunteered to work the Umatilla Black Bear Festival this weekend as well and we appreciate that. If you missed the e-mail and are interested, please contact us and we will accept your offer to help. If you have never worked one of our booths before, then we will have you work with someone that has so you are not alone.

Another follow-up e-mail will come later in the week to fill in all the progress that you have accomplished in recent months. You all deserve a huge pat on your backs for going above and beyond the call of duty. The scrub-jay trail is looking beautiful and the birds are beginning to build nests. Thank you for all the hard work in all the cold weather.

For those who love Florida gardening, there is still room to get in on next weekend's (April 3rd) Spring Gardening Series with Author Ginny Stibolt, author of Sustainable Gardening in Florida. This will be held at B.B.Brown's Gardens in Clermont.
