With a break in the cold weather this weekend.,
we now have a great opportunity to get out in the sunshine and
stretch our muscles. We're looking at temperatures in the 70's
this Saturday! There’s a lot to do, and it would be great
to have a big crowd to handle it:
Clearing and Planting
Where 100 trees were planted last month, we would like to continue
clearing and planting. We have 500 new trees waiting to go
in, so there’s plenty to keep us busy.
Chainsaws
We also need a chainsaw gang to trim the citrus trees down to nesting
size. They’re too large for the scrub-jays to comfortably
nest in, so by trimming them down, we have a better chance for
them to nest in phase 2. Anyone who owns a chainsaw is encouraged
to bring it and join in on the buzz.
Also, please bring gloves,
shovels and rakes if you have them. Looking forward to seeing you
all again. The scrub-jays have been very active as we approach
the breeding season. I’m
sure they’ll be watching over the good work you all will
be doing.
Please RSVP so we know how much
food we’ll need, and as usual, you are invited to contribute
to the food table.
