May also be referred to as Beautybush or French Mulberry.

Mint family.

Flowers from April to October.

Woody shrub that grows to 6 feet with small, pinkish flowers in clusters. Purple, fleshy fruit appears in the fall.

Found throughout the state.

Ripened fruit is used in making breads and jellies. Mockingbirds and other birds enjoy
the berries.
