Rose family.

Flowers in February and March.

A woody, densely branched shrub up to 6 feet tall with thorny, zigzag branches and twigs. Small pinkish-white flowers with 5 petals appear in February and March. Fruit that ripens in April and May is a dull reddish plum.

Native to Central Florida.

Scrub Plum is federally endangered and endemic to Florida.
