Florida Scrub-Jay Trail News
News Archives Back to News Trailday September 27, 2025

Trail maintenance continues on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

We will be respectfully clearing around the flag burial ceremony garden, and cleaning the nearby wildflower garden by the camp cabin. This wildflower garden was developed in the area where hurricane winds brought down an oak tree ... right onto the camp cabin. That was cleared out, and the wildflower garden is thriving.

Bring your water bottle – we will supply plenty of cold water to refill your bottle. Other things to bring to Saturday’s Trailday are gloves, hats, pruning shears, and loppers. We have a limited supply of tools to share, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own.

Warm up with blissful sunrise yoga at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and enjoy the beauty of nature as Dianna leads us through calming, reflective poses that are suitable for any experience level.
All you need to bring is your mat and your cool, happy thoughts.

20+ Years of Volunteer Service Recognized

Every non-profit organization relies on volunteers to make their organization grow. We are fortunate to have several volunteers who have gone above and beyond over the years. Rarely do you have one volunteer who has been consistent for over 20 years, so we are delighted to highlight three of those volunteers this September.  One in a lifetime is amazing but three is unbelievable!

Sandra Groeneveld, David Mazurek, and Judy Clark have given of their time and talent consistently week after week for over 20 years. That is truly amazing!

Sandra Groeneveld and David Mazurek have been creating and maintaining our website (www.scrubjaytrail.org) for over 20 years. Nothing says success better than a website that is updated regularly and creatively.

David has been a staunch supporter of anything IT. Whatever we need, he is there for us, 24/7.

Sandra, in addition to her website work, is a mosaic artist
who gifted us with the Florida Scrub-Jay stepping stone that marks the start of the trail.

Enjoy the work of Sandra and David
by visiting www.kalideco.com

Judy has not only been at nearly every monthly
Trailday, helping to create and maintain the Trails,
but she has also been the creative designer of our
monthly Trail Newsletter and eblasts for all of our
programming. In addition. she is our
“Breakfast Table” creative designer and baker of
the most delicious dishes.

We are most fortunate to have Sandra, David, and Judy behind our mission and cause. “Thank you” does not do justice for our appreciation for these three amazing and creative soles.

Take the first step and find your way to
the “A“ team by volunteering at
