Dr. Minno’s Journey Into The Natural World
Join the fun during our October 26th BioBlitz with Dr. Marc Minno from 10:30am-12:30pm.
Did you ever wonder why you have Monarch butterflies in your back yard during the winter? Actually our Florida Monarchs might not be taking the long journey to Mexico. Find out why!
The gardens are filled with a large variety of butterflies this time of year with the Monarch being the focus of everyone’s attention.
Watch the cycle of birth from egg to newly hatched butterfly and learn how to “tag” a Monarch and track where it goes after it leaves your home. When you participate in this program you will be the first to get involved with saving the Monarchs of Florida.
This program is good for all ages as you walk the gardens and Trails of B.B.Brown’s Gardens at The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail in Clermont. Children can participate by planting a ”nectar” or “host” plant in the National Wildlife Federation Craig Tufts Pollinator Garden.
This garden also consists of the University of Kansas Monarch Waystation and newly completed “Monarch Garden” created by Eagle Scout Bryce Gruenzner with Troop 784.
R.S.V.P. required for this free event.
