TRANSFORM YOUR YARD
INTO A COLORFUL SANCTUARY FOR BIRDS, BUTTERFLIES AND YOU
MARCH 27, 2013 9:00AM - 11:00AM
Your home landscaping can be transformed from a monochromatic sea of grass to a colorful sanctuary for people and wildlife alike through the use of properly selected, carefully installed and easily maintained Central Florida trees, shrubs, wildflowers and groundcovers. Birds and butterflies will flock to your yard when provided with the necessities such as food, water, cover and places to raise young.
Cathy Brown, owner of B.B.Brown's Gardens in Clermont and host of National Wildlife Federation's Habitat Stewards Program, has been designing and installing native wildlife landscapes in backyards, schools and public places in Central Florida for 17 years. Join Cathy in this hands-on workshop as she shares her knowledge of what to plant where, and how to attract Florida's unique wildlife to your home, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at B.B. Brown's Gardens in Clermont from 9:00am to 11:00am.
This program will help you analyze your specific landscaping needs by discussing your soil, water availability, lighting, and providing a hands-on demonstration of proper planting technique. Cathy will show you her favorite plants, including Florida natives, describe how they grow, and their best use in your landscape. The program will conclude with a walk around the gardens to see how the plants look in the landscape.
