Dr. Marc Minno Workshop

"GARDENING FOR BUTTERFLIES IN FLORIDA"
WITH DR. MARC MINNO

MAY 26, 2012   8:30AM - 12:30AM

Monarch Butterflies

Dr. Marc Minno, well known author of Butterfly Gardening in Florida and many other butterfly books will be offering this workshop specifically designed for "Gardening for Butterflies in Florida", Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 8:30am-12:30am.

The workshop will begin inside with butterfly biology and ecology featuring Marc's beautiful field photography. Marc will then lead the group outside on The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail to identify butterflies and caterpillars as well as discuss how to attract butterflies to your property. Put this knowledge to work as you get hands on experience on how to plant your butterfly garden as we demonstrate the proper way to plant for success. Finally, take home the knowledge to become certified for your very own Monarch Waystation and National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat.

Dr. Minno received the Southern Lepidopterists' Society John Abbott Award for outstanding achievement in expanding knowledge of Lepidoptera and spent 21 years as a wetland scientist for the Saint Johns River Water Management District in Palatka, FL .

Bring a brown-bag lunch for after the workshop and enjoy time with Marc as he autographs his books and signs his quick identification field guides which will be available for sale.
