The scrub-jays are being very
secretive about their families at the moment, much like they did
last year. It was May 26th last year that they began to drop by
with one fledgling followed by a 2nd the next day. From the successful
rate we are hearing across the state, we too are looking forward
to a few new family members.

Your continued support and monitoring of the scrub-jays is invaluable to the
progress we make towards preserving and protecting scrub-jays throughout the
state. Thanks in part to your efforts; Lake County has recently received a
grant to put together a Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP).
